Massive outflows from bitcoin ETFs

According to data from analytics firm The Block, over the past two trading days, US-based exchange-traded funds (ETFs) investing in spot bitcoin have registered outflows of $544.94 million. This is a record outflow over such a short period.

This trend indicates that large investors continue to divest from cryptocurrency assets amid the collapse of bitcoin and the entire digital currency market as a whole. Since the beginning of 2022, bitcoin has lost more than 55% of its value, causing widespread panic among digital asset holders.

It is worth noting that in recent weeks, US and European regulators have been increasingly skeptical of bitcoin ETFs. Doubts have been raised about the transparency of pricing on cryptocurrency exchanges, which increases the risk of market manipulation. Therefore, investors are likely preferring to exit such funds to avoid additional financial losses.

Nevertheless, despite the difficult market situation, experts are confident that the long-term prospects for bitcoin and the cryptocurrency industry as a whole remain positive. Leading companies continue to actively invest in the development of blockchain technologies, and regulators are gradually developing rules for the legal functioning of the cryptocurrency market.
