In their report, Chainalysis states that the growth in cryptocurrency payments to darknet markets was associated with subsequent increases in stimulant-related hospitalizations and deaths in Canada. This correlation was observed with a 2-3 month lag, which provides an important advantage for public health authorities.

This relationship between blockchain data and drug overdose statistics opens up new horizons for the fight against drug addiction.
