Strengthening Crypto Regulation in the US

One of the leading decentralized finance applications, Chainlink, is now closely tied to the US crypto market regulator. Taylor Lindman, previously Deputy General Counsel at Chainlink Labs, has moved to the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Lindman joined the SEC as Chief Counsel for Crypto, leading the regulator's special task force that oversees and develops policies for the rapidly growing crypto market. His experience working at one of the leading blockchain companies will undoubtedly be valuable for the SEC, especially in light of the regulator's recent high-profile lawsuits involving industry participants.

This transition can be seen as another step by the SEC to strengthen its control over the crypto space. The regulator has previously brought in industry experts to work in its divisions, which allows it to better understand the specifics of the technologies and respond quickly to changes. Given the growing attention of the US authorities to cryptocurrencies, such personnel changes are unlikely to be the last.
