Coinbase partners with Yahoo Finance for stock trading
One of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges, Coinbase, has announced a partnership with the financial portal Yahoo Finance. Now Yahoo Finance users will be able to trade securities directly through an integration with Coinbase.
According to Coinbase representative Mark Troianovski, 'Trade [asset] on Coinbase' buttons will be added to each asset page. This will simplify the investment process in stocks by allowing users to trade directly from the financial portal, without the need to switch to the separate Coinbase platform.
This partnership is another step by Coinbase to expand its capabilities beyond the cryptocurrency market. Earlier this year, the exchange added support for trading in stocks, bonds, and ETFs for institutional clients. Now this service is becoming available to retail investors in the US as well.
Experts positively assess this event, noting that it will allow Coinbase to attract a new audience of users who are interested not only in cryptocurrencies, but also in traditional financial instruments. In addition, the integration with Yahoo Finance, one of the largest financial portals, will significantly increase Coinbase's visibility among the general public.
