Conversion of AAVE trust into ETF
Grayscale, one of the largest crypto asset managers, has filed an application with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to convert its closed-end AAVE investment trust into an exchange-traded fund (ETF) for listing on the NYSE Arca exchange.
The Grayscale AAVE Trust was launched in 2021 and provides institutional and accredited investors access to the Aave token - a popular decentralized lending protocol. Conversion of the trust into an ETF format will allow to attract a wider range of investors and increase the liquidity of the product.
The transition of the Grayscale AAVE Trust to an ETF format is part of the company's larger strategy to transform its closed-end crypto trusts into exchange-traded funds. Previously, Grayscale had filed applications to convert its Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and other trusts into ETFs.
