Ripple targets Australian financial license
Ripple, the blockchain technology and cryptocurrency company, is planning to obtain an Australian financial license in the coming months. According to Fiona Murray, Ripple's APAC managing director, there is sufficient institutional interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchain solutions in Australia to justify the costs of acquiring a local license.
This is an important step for Ripple, as it will allow the company to legally work with Australian financial organizations and provide them with its services. In particular, Ripple hopes that the local license will help it attract more Australian banks and payment companies to use its blockchain-based cross-border payment technology.
While Australia is considered one of the most advanced countries in terms of cryptocurrency and blockchain regulation, obtaining a local financial license is still a challenging task even for large players like Ripple. For the company, this will be an important step in expanding its geographical presence and strengthening its position in the Asia-Pacific region.
