New Bing Capabilities and Dangers of Invisible Pages

According to the latest SEO Pulse from Search Engine Journal, there have been a number of important changes in the SEO industry that all digital marketers and traffic specialists should be aware of.

First, Bing has launched a new tool for tracking citations in its AI analytics dashboard. This allows you to quickly monitor mentions of your brand or website, as well as analyze the sources of traffic and their quality. This feature is particularly relevant for Russian specialists, as Bing holds a significant share of the search market in Russia.

Secondly, problems with so-called 'invisible' home pages have been identified. It turned out that if the main domain uses the HTTP protocol, but the rest of the site structure runs on HTTPS, search engines may simply not find the home page. This negatively affects the visibility of the site and its positions in the search results.

Thirdly, the study showed that pages that do not fit the search engine indexing limit also lose traffic. Usually the limit is around 2 million pages, and if your site exceeds this threshold, some of the content may simply fall out of the search results.

Conclusions for SEO Professionals

In summary, SEO professionals should pay attention to the following points:

  • Regularly monitor brand mentions in Bing and analyze traffic sources
  • Check that the home page uses the same protocol as the rest of the site
  • Optimize the site structure and the number of pages to fit within the indexing limit

Timely response to these changes will ensure stable visibility of the resource in search and increase the effectiveness of SEO promotion.
