Retail investors are increasing their Bitcoin positions

According to the Santiment analytics platform, since Bitcoin's all-time high in October 2022, small wallets (with a balance of less than 1 BTC) have increased their BTC holdings by 2.5%, while large holders (with a balance of more than 1,000 BTC) have reduced them by 0.8%.

This may indicate that retail investors are showing greater risk appetite and are seeking to take advantage of the current Bitcoin price correction to increase their positions. At the same time, large players are likely to be taking profits after the 2021 bull run.

Participation of large holders is necessary for a sustainable rally

However, for the Bitcoin market to return to a trajectory of confident growth, it is necessary for large players to also return to it. Historically, their activity has been a key driver of the first cryptocurrency's bull cycles.

Analysts note that the involvement of institutional investors and Bitcoin market whales is crucial for the formation of a sustainable rally. If this does not happen, the recovery of the Bitcoin price may drag on and be less pronounced.

In general, the activity of retail investors against the backdrop of a decrease in the interest of large holders is a positive signal, but for further growth, the digital asset market still needs to wait for the participation of more influential players.
