StarkNet integrates EY Nightfall protocol for private payments

Blockchain platform StarkWare has announced the integration of the EY Nightfall privacy protocol into its StarkNet ecosystem. This solution will allow institutional clients to conduct private payments and access DeFi services, while maintaining transparency and auditability of transactions.

EY Nightfall is a set of smart contracts developed by the audit firm Ernst & Young. The protocol uses Zero-Knowledge Proofs to mask the sender, recipient, and transaction amount in the public Ethereum blockchain. This solution is designed to enhance the privacy of institutional payments and DeFi operations without compromising audit and regulatory transparency.

The integration of EY Nightfall into the StarkNet ecosystem, developed by StarkWare, opens up new opportunities for institutional investors interested in using public blockchains for financial operations. This integration allows combining the benefits of privacy and auditability within an Ethereum-compatible environment.

Expert opinion

The implementation of EY Nightfall in StarkNet is an important step towards wider institutional adoption of public blockchains. Many large organizations still have concerns about the transparency of transactions in open networks, which hinders their transition to decentralized finance. The EY Nightfall solution allows maintaining the necessary level of confidentiality without sacrificing auditability - a key requirement for institutional clients. This makes public blockchains, such as Ethereum, more attractive to major players in the financial market.
