How Strategy Became the Bitcoin Treasury

The software company Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy), known for its multi-billion dollar investments in Bitcoin, has gradually turned into one of the key players in the cryptocurrency market. Its co-founder and CEO, Michael Saylor, has become one of the most prominent public supporters of the first cryptocurrency.

It all started in August 2020, when MicroStrategy, then an IT company, invested $250 million in Bitcoin. Since then, it has spent over $4 billion to buy the cryptocurrency, becoming one of the largest corporate holders of Bitcoin. Saylor himself regularly calls on institutional investors to invest in the first cryptocurrency.

In 2022, MicroStrategy was renamed Strategy, emphasizing that Bitcoin has become a key focus of its activities. The company offers its clients services for managing cryptocurrency assets and consulting in this area.

Strategy's Prospects Amid the 'Crypto Winter'

Despite the fact that the price of Bitcoin has dropped significantly in recent months, analysts agree that Strategy's long-term prospects look quite rosy. As experts note, the company has sufficient resources to survive the current 'crypto winter' and maintain its market position.

Moreover, its business model is gradually transforming towards the provision of digital asset management services, which may bring additional revenue in the volatile cryptocurrency market. Therefore, despite the difficulties associated with the sharp drop in the value of Bitcoin, Strategy, it seems, intends to maintain its course on cryptocurrency investments and the development of related services.
