Leading expert expects Bitcoin's 4-year cycle to end

Jan van Eck, the CEO of investment firm VanEck, believes that the current situation around Bitcoin is not as complex as analysts try to present it. According to him, the main factor determining the dynamics of the first cryptocurrency's prices is the four-year cycle, which is now coming to an end.

According to van Eck's observations, over the past 12 years, Bitcoin has demonstrated approximately four-year cycles, where a period of sharp growth is followed by a decline in the exchange rate. The current stage, according to the CEO of VanEck, is the final one in this cycle, which could mean a speedy recovery of Bitcoin's positions.

It is worth noting that in recent months, the cryptocurrency market has indeed been experiencing turbulent times. Bitcoin fell below the $17,000 mark, and the total market capitalization shrank by more than $2 trillion. Many experts linked this to tightening monetary policy in the US, geopolitical tensions, and an outflow of investments from risky assets.

At the same time, van Eck believes that analysts often overly complicate the situation, trying to explain the current changes in the cryptocurrency market. In his opinion, the four-year cycle of Bitcoin is the key factor determining the dynamics of the exchange rate, and now it is coming to an end, which could mean an impending recovery of the first cryptocurrency's positions.
