Crypto market demonstrates cyclical nature
The largest cryptocurrency exchange in the US, Coinbase, has reported its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2022. According to the report, the company's transaction revenue in the reporting period was less than $1 billion, which was a disappointment for the market.
At the same time, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong noted that 'crypto is cyclical, and experience tells us it's never as good, or as bad as it seems'.
Indeed, the cryptocurrency markets in 2022 experienced a significant correction against the backdrop of a general decrease in risk appetite in the financial markets. This also affected the Coinbase business, which largely depends on the activity of traders and transaction volumes.
Nevertheless, the company continues to expand its presence in the market, launching new products and services for institutional and retail investors. Analysts agree that despite the current decline in revenue, Coinbase's long-term prospects look quite optimistic due to the expected recovery of the crypto market in the future.
