Crypto ecosystem state of the industry report

According to the latest survey conducted by Cointelegraph Research, leading investors and executives in the crypto industry are more concerned about underdeveloped infrastructure than DeFi products. Respondents identified liquidity constraints and shallow market depth as key barriers to widespread institutional crypto adoption by 2026.

This is quite an interesting finding, given the DeFi boom in recent years. However, crypto industry representatives seem to be focused on solving more basic issues related to infrastructure and liquidity before moving towards more complex financial products.

Russian digital marketing and traffic arbitrage specialists also face similar problems when working with crypto projects. Many of them note difficulties in ensuring sufficient liquidity to run successful campaigns, as well as a limited choice of tools and services for working with a crypto-savvy audience.

Key barriers to institutional crypto adoption

  • Liquidity constraints
  • Insufficient market depth
  • Regulatory uncertainty
  • Lack of institutional expertise
  • Technical integration challenges

In the experts' opinion, to overcome these barriers, the crypto industry needs to focus on developing basic infrastructure, increasing liquidity, and creating more understandable and secure solutions for institutional players. Only after solving these priority tasks can we expect widespread adoption of cryptocurrencies and DeFi products at the institutional level.
