Merger of two giants: potential implications for the crypto space

According to the CoinDesk report, the ongoing merger talks between the space company SpaceX and the electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla could put the spotlight on around 20,000 bitcoins currently held by these two companies.

If such a merger materializes, it would result in the consolidation of one of the largest corporate Bitcoin holdings under a single management. Both companies have long been ardent supporters and investors in cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin.

Tesla first invested $1.5 billion in Bitcoin in 2021 and even began accepting BTC as payment for its vehicles, although it later ceased this practice. According to the latest data, Elon Musk's company holds over 17,000 BTC.

SpaceX also became one of the first major corporate investors in Bitcoin, acquiring around 3,000 coins. Thus, the total volume of bitcoins controlled by these two companies is approaching 20,000 BTC.

The consolidation of such a significant amount of crypto assets under a single management could have a significant impact on the market and the dynamics of Bitcoin prices. Additionally, the merged company will be able to play an even more significant role in the development of the cryptocurrency industry as a whole.

Experts note that this deal, if it materializes, will be an important milestone in the institutionalization of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. This could further drive the adoption and integration of digital assets by large businesses.
