Major US asset manager sees crypto as a core business
One of the world's largest investment firms, WisdomTree, which manages around $150 billion in assets, sees cryptocurrencies and tokenization as a key part of its business, according to the company's CEO Jonathan Steinberg.
Steinberg said that WisdomTree's tokenization push is nearing profitability, with the firm managing around $750 million in digital assets. He noted that the crypto business is a 'core' part of WisdomTree's operations, with long-term plans to modernize financial infrastructure.
This decision by a major traditional asset management player indicates that cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies are gradually becoming an integral part of the financial industry. Previously, WisdomTree had also launched several crypto ETFs, demonstrating its strong interest in developing this area.
Experts note that the active adoption of cryptocurrencies by large financial players can play an important role in the further institutionalization of this market and increasing investor confidence. It also opens up new opportunities for the development of blockchain technologies and asset tokenization within the traditional financial system.
