New opportunities for German investors

The largest bank in the Netherlands, ING, has launched a new service for its clients in Germany - they can now directly buy cryptocurrency products such as bitcoin, ether and solana through their bank accounts.

Previously, German investors could only invest in cryptocurrencies on third-party crypto exchanges or through complex financial instruments. Now they have the opportunity to diversify their portfolios with crypto assets right in their main banking app.

Importantly, these crypto products will be subject to the same taxes as direct cryptocurrency holdings in Germany. This means that income from them will be taxed at a preferential rate after 1 year of holding.

Expansion of the crypto-ecosystem in Europe

The launch of this ING service in Germany is another step towards the integration of cryptocurrencies into the traditional financial system in Europe. More and more major banks and financial institutions are offering their clients the opportunity to invest in crypto assets, which increases trust and adoption of the technology.

According to experts, such solutions simplify retail investors' access to cryptocurrencies and may contribute to further growth of this market in Europe. However, it is important that regulators continue to monitor the risks and protect consumer rights in this area.
