Vitalik Buterin Calls for a New Approach in Ethereum Development
In his recent speech at a cryptocurrency conference, Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, criticized the current trajectory of the Ethereum ecosystem, which is too focused on Layer-2 solutions.
According to Buterin, some Layer-2 projects, such as Optimistic Rollups and ZK-Rollups, have sacrificed the level of decentralization for the sake of scalability. He argues that such solutions 'should not be regarded as extensions of Ethereum' as they can become too centralized.
